Help Systems

Current Definition
Help systems can be differentiated into passive and active systems. Passive help systems are invoked by users. Most conventional help systems, are passive. Active help systems can volunteer advice without being asked by users. Examples of active help systems include crtiquing systems. A particular challenge of active help systems is to volunteer information which is relevant to the task at hand.
